I asked IF these files/ stone can be used in cleaning solvent like mineral spirits. I use knife sharpening stones in my parts cleaner to clean mating surfaces and remove imperfections. So can these stones/ files be used submerged in mineral spirits?
The Tungsten Carbide Abrasive Grit is welded to the steel shaped tools, so all permagrit tools can be used or cleaned with almost any solvent and it would not damage the grit surface.
Please note however, that the tools have been lightly painted after being made. This is to give an even appearance before packaging.
If a solvent is applied to the tools, they may change color but the abrasive surface will not be affected.
