Description

W50LDK

DIMENSIONS – The W50LD is a 5″ inch wheel with 4.65-inch width with an additional 1.39 inch caliper spacing. Bearing spacing is 2.98 inches and axle spacing is 1.36 inches. The total weight of this wheel and brake assembly is 8.9 pounds. The bearing axle diameter is 1.25 inches.

FEATURES – The W50LD is centrifugally cast utilizing 535 aluminum alloy for superior strength and corrosion resistance. This alloy provides a lightweight wheel and affords many years of efficient performance. The W50LD features dual WHLB5 brake assemblies and a high energy disc for increased braking performance. The wheel is designed to use 11x400x5 ‘Lamb’ type tires. (Specify the W51LD for use with 5.00-5 aircraft style tires). The WHLA1A axle or WHLAXLE1A axle assembly (includes axle, nut, and washer) are designed to be used with the W50LD

PERFORMANCE

The WHLW50LD is designed for the following standards:

Static Capacity 1420 LBS
Load Limit 4260 LBS
Maximum Accelerate/Stop Kinetic Energy 283613 ft-lb
Torque Rating (@450 PSI) 3976 in-lb.

W51LT

DIMENSIONS – The W51LXT is a 5″ inch wheel with 4.65-inch width with an additional 1.39 inch caliper spacing. Bearing spacing is 2.98 inches and axle spacing is 1.36 inches. The total weight of this wheel and brake assembly is 9.2 pounds. The bearing axle diameter is 1.25 inches.

FEATURES – The W51LT is centrifugally cast utilizing 535 aluminum alloy for superior strength and corrosion resistance. This alloy provides a lightweight wheel and affords many years of efficient performance. The W51LT features the WHLB5T brake assembly and high energy disc for increased braking performance. The WHLB5T brake uses three 1.25-inch diameter pistons in a single caliper to provide maximum torque low profile package. This internal caliper design is favored for use in many retractable gear systems for its low profile compared to external caliper designs when low drag and clean lines are desired. The wheel is designed to use 5.00-5 aircraft style tires. (Specify the W50LT for use with 11x400x5 ‘Lamb’ type tires). The WHLA1A axle or WHLAXLE1A axle assembly (includes axle, nut, and washer) are designed to be used with the W51LT. (Please see the W51LXT for a higher torque version of this wheel & brake).

PERFORMANCE

The WHLW51LT is designed for the following standards:

Static Capacity 1420 LBS
Load Limit 4260 LBS
Maximum Accelerate/Stop Kinetic Energy 337932 ft-lb
Torque Rating (@450 PSI) 4266 in-lb

WE51K

DIMENSIONS – The WE51 is a 5″ inch wheel with 5.01-inch width with an additional 1.10-inch caliper spacing. Bearing spacing is 3.03 inches and axle spacing is 1.10 inches. The total weight of this wheel and brake assembly is 6.9 pounds. The bearing axle diameter is 1.25 inches.

FEATURES – The WE51 is cast utilizing a 535.2 aluminum alloy for superior strength and corrosion resistance. This alloy provides a lightweight wheel and affords many years of efficient performance. The WE51 has a 1.25 tapered roller bearing which is rigorously tested and designed to resist bearing fatigue providing a long bearing life. This wheel features our ‘E’ series disc and single piston brake assembly. All ‘E’ series wheels utilize an external caliper for easy maintenance. Brake shoe removal can be accomplished by simply removing two bolts to release the caliper. Al-Ni-Brz bushings are used on ‘E’ series wheels to ensure smooth caliper travel.
Machining on this wheel optimizes its effectiveness when using a variety of manufacturer’s tires including Goodyear, McCreary, Michelin, and others. The WE51 can be used in conjunction with a bolt on axle, the A1B axle, for ease of installation. The A1B axle is manufactured using a black anodized 2024-T351 alloy and has a bolt hole diameter of 1.94. A straight 1.25-inch diameter axle may be used with 0.945 inch spacing between bearing and axle flange. For simplicity of installation, specify the WHLA1B axle or WHLAXLE1B axle assembly as the bearing stops are machined into the axle for correct caliper spacing. The WE51 has the same axle fit dimensions as the Cleveland 199-102 kit.  Used on the RV-4, RV-6, RV-7, RV-8, RV-9.

TIRE/TUBE – Any 500X5 tire and tube combination can be used with this tire. Matco Aircraft Landing Systems recommends the Michelin Condor 500X5 6 ply.

PERFORMANCE

The WE51 is designed for the following standards:

Static Capacity 1420 LBS
Load Limit 4260 LBS
Maximum Accelerate/Stop Kinetic Energy 118000 ft-lb
Torque Rating (@450 PSI) 2085 in-lb
