2-1/4" solid state, no moving parts, no float. All electronics safely potted in epoxy in head of 1/4" aluminum tube probe. Principle is capacitance. Microprocessor in probe head measures the insulation value of the gap between the two probe conductors. Signal is amplified and sent through wire harness (supplied) to the gauge. Probes supplied in either 12" or 24" length, each of which can be trimmed to fit tank depth (remember to figure allowance for reserve quantity). 12" probe can be cut to 4-1/2", 24" probe to 12-1/2". After cutting to length, probe is recalibrated by adjusting trim pots in probe head. Bendable probe (up to 90 degrees) available at no charge if tank is odd shape or if application requires side mounting. Units available for multiple tank, single gauge configuration. Probe mounts available for soft plastic, fiberglass or metal tanks. Flange for fiberglass or metal tanks has standard 5-bolt SAE fuel sender pattern. Quick disconnect harness available for demountable tanks. Available for 24 or 12VDC system, or self powered (9v transistor battery included) if no on-board power available. 24 or 12VDC system reads continuously. Self-powered unit reads when button is pushed to conserve energy. Needle returns to empty after actuation as safety feature. Battery life 200 flying hours+. As battery weakens, gauge will begin to read low - another safety feature. System includes either 12" or 24" probe (standard or bendable) 8 ft. wire harness, (standard or quick disconnect version) mounting hardware, gauge - 2-1/4" panel mount, and instructions. Specify power to be used, tank depth, quick disconnect, bendable probe(s). Special order only. 12 volt 0-1 week, 24 volt 2-3 week ship time.
