WHELEN ENGINEERING has their anti-collision strobe light hardware approved by the
Federal Aviation Administration under three supplemental type certificates.
STC SA615EA approves the installation of Whelen’s anti-collision strobe light systems
Models HD, DF, HR, DF, or HS, DF as replacement for original installed anti-collision
lights. These three models are approved for replacing the rotating beacon or the
quartz type flasher. They can be installed on aircraft where the rotating beacon or
quartz type flasher were previously approved under original type design drawings, supplemental
type certificate, or form 337. These three methods of approval can be used
to document installations under categories number 1 and 3 systems. All of Whelen’s
anti-collision strobe lights are manufactured under Production Manufacturing Authority,
issued by the Federal Aviation Administration. STC SA800 EA approved anti-collision
strobe light hardware can be installed on any aircraft. Compliance to FAR 91.33(c)(3)
(VFR Flight Rule Night) can be met with this hardware when installed with reference to
Whelen’s approved Installation and Service Manual.STC SA21NE approved anti-collision
strobe light hardware applies to the minimum 400 effective candles requirement
(category number 2) for aircraft which application for type certificate or issuance of operations
limitations was after August 11, 1971. Of course, this is the brightest, most
conspicuous anti-collision strobe light system, and offers the greatest in operations
safety of aircraft. This anti-collision strobe light hardware can be installed in any aforementioned
aircraft with reference to Whelen’s approved anti-collision strobe light Installation
and Service Manual. |
