Power Flow's Tuned Exhaust System; Bolt-On Horsepower; For most Lycoming O-320, O-360 & IO-360 powered aircraft. Based on the same principles that have been used successfully on racing engines for more than 50 years, Power Flow's system replaces your power robbing stock exhaust system with an FAA Certified, performance enhancing asset.Due to design limitations in your airplane's stock exhaust system, the exhaust gasses from one power stroke are unable to evacuate the cylinder completely before the fresh fuel/air charge tries to enter the cylinder for the next power stroke. Think of a four lane highway being funneled down to one lane during rush hour. This unwanted back pressure decreases the efficiency of the engine and can rob 20 to 30 horsepower from your plane. Optimized for each engine. In a process called "Scavenging" these high quality components utilize the vacuum created by the exhaust pulse to pull the spent gasses out of each cylinder before the next fuel/air charge Power Flow's tuned exhausts use header and collector components that have been precisely arrives.
